The golf course has grown recently with 9 more holes opening for the public in 2013.

Or there’s Rosses Point which isn’t just famous in Ireland but across the world. This course is a common part of a golf tour and was designed by Henry Colt. Using natural contours of the landscape, which is covered in dunes, to provide something truly remarkable to those going on a golf holiday. This course is open all through the year and definitely worth a visit.

The amazing Connemara landscape would be a backdrop on some routes.

The Open was first held here in 1951 when Max Faulkner won the title. During that time, there was a crowd of 8,000. 190,000 tickets were sold this year. This should give you an idea of just how popular this course is and why you might want to include it on your golf break.

A Northern Ireland golf trip, certainly would not be complete without a trip to Royal County Down Club, founded in 1889. From then on, there were numerous developments that helped shape the course into what it is today. Various incredible events have been held here including The Walker Cup in 2007 as well as The Home Internationals and The Curtis Cup.
